Victorian Guidelines for
Planning Safe Public Events
The consideration of adequate medical and first aid cover at events is an essential component of the event planning process, and the health and well-being of event patrons and staff should be front of mind of event organisers.
Emergency Medical Response provides Event and Sports First Aid solutions that include:
In fact, if there is a Event or Sports First Aid need – EMR has you covered with a simple "Get a Quote" email request.
Intermediate
First Aid Service
Our first aid service has appropriately trained staff and is equipped to adequately cater for significant injuries or illnesses which may require referral to another healthcare provider or hospital.
The minimum clinical staff level includes Certificate II, III, IV or Diploma Level Sports Trained Med1cs and First Responders as well as registered health professionals. Intermediate providers also have access to some scheduled medications (S4), including, for example, Penthrox 'the green whistle'.
Engaging a First Aid Service provider
Event organisers or local councils planning or approving an event generally need to engage first aid services as part of the event’s provision. As an event organiser, you should ensure that the first aid service contracted to the event is licenced. Having a licenced first aid service is important to ensure the provision of quality and safe patient care.
Insurance
We carry $20 million Professional Indemnity / Medical Malpractice and $20 million Public Liability insurance coverage.
We provide more than “first aid”. Our team is trained to manage a range of event and sports medical scenarios – from basic first aid to complex clinical interventions. Our paramedics, medics and first responders will therefore manage many medical conditions on-site which reduces the number of people being transported to hospital for medical attention including access to some scheduled medications (S4), for example, Penthrox pain relief medication 'the green whistle'.
